OVERVIEW
Welcome to the Roussac family site! The main focus of this website is ETIENNE AUGUSTE ROUSSAC (born 1768) of Pont du Camarès, Rouergue (now Aveyron) France, who went out to India, married and had a family. The website tells his story and that of his descendants. This Roussac story begins in France and later branches out to India and later still branching out to AUSTRALIA in 1912, ENGLAND in 1924 and 1925 and CANADA in 1915. To find out more about who left India for each of these three countries, just click on one of the countries or the dates to take you to them.
Although Etienne Auguste Roussac Snr left France for India, other family members remained in France. Some years ago online, I met my late dear friend Hubert Chatelain, whose family married into the Roussacs and he, too, had done much research on the French side of the tree and published his very interesting findings here, scroll down to Chapter 4 which includes the section about the Roussacs.
Yet another branch of the Roussacs left Pont du Camarès and settled in Amsterdam, Holland and Minden, Germany. Little is known about any of them apart from various dates and who they married. If this branch interests you, or if you have more knowledge about them, please contact me for the details I have using the 'Contact Me' tab above.
